Rain!

Badness:

Well, it finally rained. Finally. It was a nice, slow, drenching rain that the earth really needed. I hope everything turns green. The air smelled wonderful and clean!

The only bad part is we have a leak in the roof. As long as it isn't dripping on my head, it isn't my problem. But, the Mother woke us all up last night to help her find it. I made sure she understood my displeasure. I walked as grumpily as possible. We could hear it drip, drip, dripping but couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, the Mother said the leak is around the air conditioner. The water is some how dripping into the duct. Fine. She got me out of bed for something we can't even put a bucket under. I fliffed my tail at her and went back to bed.

And then this morning, to add insult to injury, there I was innocently laying on my back under the Mothers desk trying to get some more rest. Okay, I have a really cute white fluffy tummy and I make bunny feet with my front paws. But that is no excuse to go poking me in the tummy with her toe! Then she poked me in the butt!!! How rude!

Thank YOU!

Tucker:

Thank you all for your recent care and concern over my near tragedy. Mama is being extra careful with the bags now. I took me a few days and several bowls of food to get over it all. My sisters have finally stopped laughing at me. Mama had to remind Badness of the time she got one of her claws stuck in the screen door. Apparently, Badness really got scared then. Scrappy has gotten herself stuck up in high place occasionally. So I am not the only one who gets scared.

I had another accident yesterday but my mama was the one who got hurt. She was in my way though!! She was doing her business in the bathroom. I was on the side of the tub and wanted to be on the vanity. She didn't duck for me or anything. I tried to jump over her but I just couldn't quite make it! I missed the vanity and landed on Mama's arm. I got scared again and scratched Mamas hand real bad. I said I was sorry and Mama forgave me. Mama always does!

I Was Attacked!!!
Tucker:

Late last night I was patrolling my territory and making sure my dishes were still full. Sadly, they weren't. I jumped up on the table by the front door to check out mama purse that she had left there. I thought maybe she had stinky goodness or treats that she would keeping from us. Having almost empty dishes is quite distressing late at night you know.

When suddenly, something wrapped it is tentacles around me and tried to pull me down. It was heavy and kept tugging at my throat. It was trying to strangle me, squeeze the life out of me with its clinging tentacles!!!! I pulled back with all my strength and managed to struggle up the stairs into mamas room. Step by step I pulled myself closer and closer to the top!! Finally I made it. I was almost about to lose consciousness.

She had heard my life and death struggle downstairs and new I was in trouble. She leaped out of bed and wrestled the clinging beast off of me. One by one, she pulled the tentacles from around my neck. She through the beast against the wall and killed it dead!

It took me awhile to recover myself. My mama held me and told me I would be okay. She said I was so brave. Her brave little boy.

Scrappy: This is a bit much don't you think.

Tucker: Scrappy how can you say that. I was attacked in my own home by a dreadful beast!!

Scrappy: You mean this?

Tucker: Well, in the dark it looks much worse. It was wrapped around my neck!! My life flashed before my eyes, it was full of empty dishes. Hum....

Scrappy: ROFL! You are such a wienie!

Wanted: Home with NO dog.

Badness:

I am now the only one is this household with sense. Everyone has succumbed to the "charms" of the dog. Scrappy actually lets that dog lick her head. :::shivers in disgust::: What is this world coming too. This will certainly NOT be a case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Dogs are evil and vile. My felinity is too precious!

I Am My Mama's Hero!

Daisy:

My mama needed my help. We was at the car wash on Siturday. Mama was sprayin' down the car when water shot in the car throughs an open window. She laughed at herselfs and rolleds up the window. But somehows she locked the doors! With mes in the car and the car running!!!! Silly mama!!!

She says too tell you all that car was in the shades sos I wasn't cooking in a hot car.

I was sos upset. I couldn't reach my mama! Then she left me!! I seed her walking across the street. Then she comes back with a mans who looks at the car and shakes his head.

My mama kepts telling me I was gonna be okay buts I was sayin', "I can helps, I can helps!"

Finally, mama remembered thats I can roll down windows. I does it all the time. So she showed me wheres to step on the button. And I rolleds down the window for hers!

SOMEBODY'S CAT
C H Campagna

Somebody's cat went missing last night,
Somebody's cat had a terrible fright,
Somebody's cat was very brave,
So many kind people his life tried to save.

No-one's name hung from his collar last night,
Just a strip of tape for reflecting the light,
But a small strip of tape can in no way compete,
With so many cars and a busy town street.

It's such a dangerous world outside for cats,
With fast cars and dogs and with poisoned rats,
Someone, somewhere by a window will wait,
Thinks: "He'll be home soon, though it's now late."

Just a number to call could have meant instead
Of kind strangers she could have held his head,
I wonder if she's sorry she let her cat roam,
When he could have been so safe in her home?

The morning sun would have warmed his soft fur,
As he sat on her lap to wash and to purr.
Somebody's cat gave death quite a fight,
When somebody's cat died late last night.

I Didn't Ask to be a Stray - Author Unknown

With heavy heart and weary paws
I walk the wet streets, shunned, ignored
Thinking of my life before.

Once I had a loving home
But now the cold streets I must roam
Down on my luck and all alone.

Crouching in some hedge by day
Dodging kicks that come my way
Nothing but a hungry stray.

Inside the houses warm and light
Live my cousins - their future bright
While I must cower out of sight.

Can't you spare a scrap or two?
Or a cozy box in the living room?
Might I come and live with you?.

I'm really friendly, if given a chance -
So won't you give me a second chance?
Instead of a disdainful glance.

I really wouldn't take much space
I'd wash my grimy paws and face
All I want is my own warm place.

It isn't fun to live this way
No-one to love, no time for play
I didn't ask to be a stray.........

Looking for the Kitty:

The Mother:

Daisy and I have gone up to the same area in the foothills for the past couple of days looking for the wild kitty. We haven't seen her.

She was such a beautiful kitty. I don't think she is a feral, because she sat there for a long time just looking at us. She laid down and rolled in the dirt and then walked on. Daisy and I make a LOT of noise when we are walking around so I am sure she heard us approaching her. But there she was, looking perfectly calm.

I think the odds of actually catching her if she is a feral are slim. We could put a cage out there with stinky goodness in it but we are more likely to catch a skunk than her. I really don't want to catch a skunk.

Poor kitty. If she does have a fur-parent, that parent needs to be horse-whipped for letting her wander around in the foothills! It really makes me mad that she is allowed to roam in such a dangerous place. Mountain lions, Bear, Bobcats, Skunks, Diseases, Coyotes, Ticks, Fleas; all of them are out there just waiting to get her.

I get so mad, I could go Chihuahua.

Ps. I apologize for the quality of the pic. I took it with my little cell phone camera. Still haven't mastered the thing.
